What should I do with my tapes
after I have them transferred?
Imagine if you threw your tapes away after they were
transferred to DVD, but the DVD get scratched or
damaged. Now your video is lost forever! To avoid
this situation we recommend you keep your tapes.
Store them in a dry, cool place, out of direct
sunlight.
-
What
kind of video quality can I expect?
The quality of the DVD depends on the quality of
the original tape itself. The video quality of
your finished DVD will be identical to the
original tape in its current condition. You may
notice some improvements - a reduction in video
and color noise and timing errors - but beyond
that your DVD will look like your source
tape. If your tape looks great, the DVD will
look great. If your tape is in poor condition,
the DVD will be the same. Older tapes, and tapes
that have been played repeatedly are more
likely to have reduced quality. If your tape
is in extremely poor condition, you may want to
consider sending it to a company that
specializes in video restoration.
